I do my best to stay positive and find at least 5 things a day that I am really thankful for or in love with! So far it's just been a few friends reading it, but now I'm opening it up to everyone! Tell me what you're thankful for!

Election Day
I have been waiting for this day for a long time. It's the first election I've been super psyched to vote in. So, I got up this morning and waited for what felt like forever for my roommates to be ready to go. As soon as they were we headed to our polling place. It was a little hard to find, and we were expecting long lines, but we were positive the whole time. When we arrived we thought we were in the wrong place. The church was empty. As we walked to the door, a rather angry looking voter yelled to us, "You have to take off your pins!" We did so, but felt a little attacked. We went in, voted, and went back out where we proceeded to take a photo. Two more angry looking voters came out of the building and scoffed at us, "First time voters? Ha." We told them we weren't, we just really liked voting. Where's the kindness that I remember from childhood? Isn't it the customary thing to offer to take a picture if you see three people trying to cram into a picture they're taking themselves? Even after this we were still excited and happy. We got in the car and headed out to get our election day freebies! We stopped by Starbucks and received excellent service with our free coffee, then went to Krispy Kreme for our free donut, and made our last stop Chick-Fil-A. The place was packed! It was like the day after Thanksgiving at Target. The service there was better than any place I've ever been! Our cashier was so sweet and seemed genuinely excited to give us free food. I bought some french fries to go with my free chicken sandwich and stepped to the side. When the first free sandwich for my group came up, this older, pushy lady gawked at my roommate. "Did he get just the free sandwich? How rude! I like this company and he shouldn't be taking advantage of them like this." I was shocked that anyone would have the audacity to be so rude to a struggling college student sampling a product he'd never had before. I just glared at her, because I was so shocked and angry I couldn't find the words to speak. I'm sure she voted for McCain. That's obvious. :) Anyway, it put a big damper in my election day, but I'm still excited for the results. I'll be watching John Stewart and Steven Colbert tonight!
